Big, bouncy, voluminous hair is a timeless and iconic look that’s all about technique. That’s where the Cécred Signature Blowout comes in. We created a blowout technique designed to deliver lasting body, volume, and movement across all hair types.
How to Make a Blowout Bouncy
A bouncy blowout comes down to three things working in sync: the health of your hair, the products you layer in, and the way you use your tools. The Cécred Signature Blowout is designed to balance all three so you’re never left with hair that feels crunchy or falls flat.
It starts with clean, strong hair. You cannot build volume on top of oil, sweat, or old product. Bouncy hair requires a foundation that is both clean and strong. Begin with the Cécred Double Cleanse. The Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Scrub exfoliates the scalp and removes buildup from the hair. Follow with Hydrating Shampoo, which restores moisture with hyaluronic acid.
For hair that needs extra structural support, incorporate a treatment like our Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual to reinforce strength and shine before you style. Always follow your wash or treatment with Hydrating Conditioner to seal the cuticle.
The Technique Behind the Cécred Signature Blowout
On clean, detangled, damp hair, apply Volumizing Mousse from roots to ends. This step is what gives the hair “memory.” The mousse creates internal structure, allowing strands to hold the curve of the brush and maintain volume after styling.

Use a Vented Paddle Brush to distribute the product evenly. For those with finer hair densities, focus your application at the roots to create an anchor for lift. If you have thicker or textured hair, focus the mousse on the mid-lengths to the ends.
Blow-drying is where volume is engineered. It is all about building big body in the hair through tension and temperature. Using a round brush, create high tension at the root. Lift the hair upward and away from the scalp to establish direction and volume. Always direct the dryer nozzle down the hair shaft. This seals the cuticle, improving shine and reducing frizz. Before curling the hair, lightly spray each section with Flexible Hold Hairspray. After using the curling iron, immediately pin the curl in place against your scalp. This allows the hair to cool completely in its new shape, locking in a secure, bouncy set that won't fall flat the moment you finish.
Hair is malleable when hot, but it sets when cool. This is the step most people rush, and the reason blowouts fall flat. If you release a curl while it’s still warm, gravity will pull it down before the hydrogen bonds have time to reset. The result is volume that disappears within hours. Here are some tips for keeping the volume (and your confidence) nice and high:
- Remember that each curl must cool completely in its shape.
- After curling, pin each section to the head and allow the entire style to cool for 15–30 minutes. The hair should be cool to the touch before releasing.
- Once cooled, remove pins and gently comb through with a Wide Tooth Comb. Finish with a light mist of Flexible Hold Hairspray to reinforce the shape while preserving movement.

Blowout Tips for Different Hair Types
It’s also important to adapt this technique based on your hair texture and density. For fine, straight, or low-density hair, focus heavily on root lift during the drying phase. Work in smaller sections so every strand is trained to follow the curve of the brush. This prevents collapse and creates fullness that holds.
For curly, coily, or high-density hair, tension during blow-drying is critical. Fully stretch the hair before curling to create a uniform base. If needed, lightly smooth the roots to mid-shaft with a flat iron.
Cécred Signature Blowout is all about working with your hair’s natural movement rather than forcing volume with excessive heat. By starting with a clean scalp and layering in Volumizing Mousse while the hair is damp, you’re building a weightless foundation that actually holds. When you combine that prep with the right tension and a thorough cool-down, you lock in a soft, touchable bounce that stays full-bodied all day. This system is designed to be a simple, repeatable rhythm, giving you the confidence to recreate that effortless, salon-quality volume every single time you style.
