The Role of a Lead Global Stylist

Meet Neal Farinah: Cécred’s Lead Global Stylist, owner of Neal Farinah Salon, industry expert, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter's longtime stylist. 

He’s the innovator behind some of the most iconic hair moments throughout our founder’s career, from the Drunk in Love bob to the Cowboy Carter platinum press.

Ahead, we chatted with Neal about his role as Lead Global Stylist and his favorite part about working with hair. 

Cécred: How did you get started in the hair industry? 

I went to beauty school in Trinidad where I was trained to do all hair types, which is different from the U.S. where you have to choose one type of hair. Textured hair became my focus when I moved to New York, and that’s what I’ve been doing ever since. 

Cécred: Tell us about your role at Cécred!

As the Lead Global Stylist, I work across the entire brand. I work closely with Beyoncé and Ms. Tina on ideas for product, and with the PD and Marketing teams to bring the product to life. I test every single formula, and love to put them to the test in my kit. I also love meeting Cécred fans in the wild and hearing their stories - we are all so connected by hair and I love to see how Cécred is bringing us together. 

Cécred: How do you see Cécred in your community?

I’ve been a hairstylist for over 20 years, and having a lack of diverse products on the market was always one of my biggest challenges. Now, seeing Cécred everywhere, it’s such a blessing to be able to have one line that really works for everyone. The brand is full of so much love and intention, it’s more than just a product. It’s a family and community that has been brought together through our love of hair. 

Cécred: What’s your favorite Cécred product? 

You want me to choose one favorite? How do I have one favorite? I can’t pick one! If I had to, I’d pick the Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual because it benefits every hair texture, and that’s really our brand.
